About Esther Abramowitz

Jerusalem Judaica artist Esther Abramowitz was raised by her father, R. Avraham Shlomo (Arthur) Meir, himself a distinguished artist, and her mother, an educator.

Drawing was a hobby for Esther’s father, a brilliant chemical engineer who for fifty years was head of chemical analysis at Teva, Israel’s foremost pharmaceutical company. Artist, scientist, and above all, a scholar and profound thinker of rare talent, he is now retired. He dedicates his time to Torah study, while continuing to provide consulting services in the field of kashrut in drugs.

Raised by these special parents, Esther inherited her father’s artistic talents and depth of thought.

The two come together in a beautiful harmony of the written word and stunning artwork rooted in Judaic heritage.

Her works are based on Scriptural texts and selections from traditional prayers, with illustrations alluding to the inner meaning of the text.

Her deep love for Judaica is evident in every brushstroke.

Esther received her training in art privately, studying under a number of well-known artists. Many years of independent work have enhanced and developed her skills.

She incorporates a variety of different calligraphic styles, matching design to the message of the text. Professional and artistic expertise, careful thought, and deep emotion have produced this unique collection of Judaica artwork.

Esther is also recognized as a talented writer and prolific poet. She is the author of Noam Shabbat V’Chag, a seven-volume series for children on the Torah portion (parshiot) and Jewish festivals.

Esther is the mother of seven children who follow in the family’s footsteps as dedicated Torah Jews, each making their own special impact on those around them.
